Job Description ECS is seeking a
System Architect - SME to work in our
Washington, DC - Hybrid office.
Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. ECS is seeking a System Architect Subject Matter Expert to serve as the principal technical authority driving the modernization and transformation of enterprise IT architecture at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). As the SEC accelerates its adoption of AI, cloud services, and automation, this role is central to defining the technology roadmap that will reshape how the agency operates. You will lead architecture review boards, evaluate emerging technologies including AI/ML platforms and intelligent automation tools, and ensure all systems meet performance, security, and compliance requirements while enabling the SEC's data-driven mission.
This is not a maintain-the-status-quo role. You will be expected to champion modern architectural patterns-microservices, event-driven architectures, API-first design, and infrastructure-as-code-and drive the integration of AI capabilities into the SEC's operational environment. You will work closely with the SEC's AI Task Force and CETU to ensure infrastructure decisions support the agency's strategic modernization goals.
