Senior Front-End Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Front-End Developer who not only excels at building performant and maintainable applications in React and TypeScript, but who also brings leadership qualities, can mentor existing team members, drive engineering standards, and potentially grow into a Team Lead role. This is a 6-month contract to hire role. The position is hybrid, 3 days a week on-site in Wexford, PA.

Summary:
As a Senior Front-End Engineer, you will own major components of our Email Hygiene and Data Enhancement applications, lead design discussions, ensure engineering best practices, and contribute to shaping our UI architecture. You will work closely with other engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver user-focused, stable, and scalable solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on coding and elevating the performance of the entire team.

Duties Include:
* Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, secure, and performant front-end applications using React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
* Take ownership of complex features and components from concept to delivery
* Serve as a technical mentor for other front-end engineers - conduct code reviews, provide guidance, support technical decision-making
* Drive engineering best practices, coding standards, testing patterns, and architectural improvements
* Collaborate with backend engineers to define API requirements and ensure smooth integration
* Participate in planning, estimation, grooming, and cross-functional discussions
* Provide leadership support where needed and potentially grow into a Team Lead role over time
* Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
* Expert knowledge of React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
* Strong experience integrating with REST APIs and handling application state and data flows
* Experience working with Git-based workflows
* Structured, systematic approach to problem solving
* Solid analytical skills
* Extensive experience using APIs and API Integration
* Proven ability to take ownership, work independently, and deliver high-quality solutions
* Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, guide, and collaborate effectively
* High attention to detail, strong product sense, and a bias toward action
* Demonstrated leadership qualities and a high-ownership mindset

Preference will be given to candidates who have:
* Relevant certifications
* Previous experience mentoring engineers or acting as a tech lead
* Experience working with small, agile teams
* Familiarity with Linux-based environments
* Hands-on experience with Jira or similar project management tools

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
