Role Overview
An opportunity is available for an experienced HMI Validation Engineer to support the validation of automotive infotainment systems. The role involves a mix of manual and automated testing, test design, and documentation for Android-based HMI systems, including UI automation, connectivity testing, and validation of audio, radio, and connectivity features. Flexibility to support varied shifts may be required based on project needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual validation of Automotive HMI features on target hardware and bench setups.
- Design, execute, and document test cases using ALM tools.
- Develop and maintain test automation using Python for UI automation and connectivity testing. Candidates must be able to read, debug, and improve code.
- Validate Android-based infotainment systems and HMI workflows.
- Test and validate audio systems, including AM/FM radio, Bluetooth audio (A2DP, HFP), media playback, and audio routing.
- Validate vehicle communication protocols such as CAN and SOME/IP.
- Utilize Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer) for bus simulation and analysis.
- Analyze logs, identify defects, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.
- Support regression testing and release validation cycles.
- Contribute to test strategy, test plans, and validation documentation.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in Automotive Infotainment or HMI validation.
- Experience with Android Automotive or Android-based HMI.
- Hands-on experience with both manual testing and test automation.
- Proficiency in Python for automation, including the ability to read, debug, and improve code.
- Experience with test case design using ALM tools (e.g., Polarion).
- Experience with Vector tools such as CANoe or CANalyzer.
- Familiarity with HIL/SIL/bench testing environments.
- Understanding of CAN and other automotive ECU communication protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SOME/IP.
- Experience working with Tier-1 automotive suppliers or OEM validation processes.
- Knowledge of ASPICE or ISO 26262 standards.
- Experience validating multi-display or cluster integrations.
- Experience with Appium for UI automation.
