The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates is sourcing for an industry-leading defense and surveillance technology organization to identify a visionary leader for a high-impact executive position. In this role, you will spearhead the creation and deployment of next-generation antenna technologies for a premier surveillance systems division.

Reporting directly to the head of the business unit, you will serve as the principal technical architect establishing the long-term innovation roadmap for the enterprise. StaffRight Associates is managing this high-impact search to find an elite strategist capable of driving national technological priorities and shaping the future of defense sensor systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect Technology Vision: Design and execute a comprehensive strategic roadmap to advance cutting-edge electromagnetic propagation systems across the domestic business unit.

  • Steer Investment Strategy: Collaborate directly with executive leadership to determine critical research priorities and allocate corporate investment capital effectively.

  • Champion Product Lifecycles: Drive the design, engineering, and deployment of revolutionary sensor systems while overseeing full lifecycle product management for complex aerospace applications.

  • Maximize R&D Outcomes: Partner with engineering executives to align internal research and development pipelines with overarching corporate growth initiatives.

  • Cultivate Industry Networks: Maintain a high-profile executive presence and robust client relationships across the modern defense and aerospace marketplace.

  • Synthesize Thought Leadership: Establish the organization’s technical dominance and authority within relevant scientific communities, regulatory bodies, and stakeholder networks.

  • Elevate Technical Talent: Mentor and groom high-potential technical staff, actively cultivating an internal culture centered on continuous education and engineering excellence.

What You Bring

  • Advanced Technical Subject Matter Expertise in complex sensor architectures and advanced signal dissemination.

  • Proven track record in executing Technical Leadership and managing Strategic Initiatives within the Aerospace / Defense sector.

  • Extensive experience directing large-scale Radar and Antennas engineering design efforts.

  • Deep mastery of R&D Planning methodologies and lifecycle engineering.

  • Minimum of 20 to 30 years of progressive engineering leadership experience.

  • Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent technical field (an MBA or additional business credentials is a plus).

  • Executive-level communication, presentation, and diplomatic skills.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% to support program milestone evaluations and business development pursuits.

  • Active United States Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance.

Compensation & Total Rewards

  • Annual Salary: $245,000 - $325,000
