The Opportunity

An elite U.S. defense technology innovator is seeking a highly accomplished leadership professional to spearhead sophisticated defense initiatives from inception through final deployment. Managed exclusively by StaffRight Associates, this high-visibility position drives comprehensive program execution, ensuring strict adherence to timelines, budgets, technical benchmarks, and client expectations. Operating out of Binghamton, New York, the successful candidate will function as the primary liaison to defense clients while aligning multidisciplinary internal teams across various operational business units to fulfill critical national security initiatives.

What You’ll Do

  • Champion complex defense initiatives throughout the complete lifecycle, spanning contract finalization, advanced development, manufacturing, delivery, and long-term product lifecycle support.

  • Cultivate enduring, trust-based partnerships with primary government and defense customers as their principal organizational liaison.

  • Architect comprehensive operational strategies, establishing integrated timelines, financial parameters, and optimized workforce assignments.

  • Synchronize collaborative efforts across matrixed units, including engineering, production, logistics, legal, corporate finance, and quality assurance divisions.

  • Validate project velocity by routinely auditing operational expenditures, delivery timelines, engineering milestones, and contract compliance.

  • Synthesize clear performance evaluations, financial projections, and strategic progress indicators for presentation to executive leadership.

  • Minimize organizational vulnerabilities by identifying systemic operational hazards and deploying proactive mitigation protocols across the lifecycle.

  • Formulate strategic corrective workflows to rapidly resolve any emerging cost overruns, timeline delays, or engineering challenges.

  • Drive corporate expansion by actively participating in technical proposal architecture, strategic customer alignment, and capture initiatives.

  • Foster a corporate environment centered on personal accountability, cross-functional synergy, and ongoing operational refinement.

What You Bring

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (or the verified capacity to successfully secure one).

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Program Management, or a closely aligned academic field; an advanced Master’s Degree is highly desirable.

  • Ten To Twenty Years of documented leadership in Program Management or advanced organizational direction.

  • Proven history of successfully delivering sophisticated, high-stakes initiatives within Aerospace, Defense, or equivalent deep-technology environments.

  • Demonstrated capability navigating and guiding cross-functional personnel within matrixed corporate frameworks.

  • Advanced acumen in Financial Management, encompassing precise corporate budgeting, forward forecasting, and rigid Program Cost Control.

  • Deep functional proficiency in Earned Value Management, Program Metrics, Variance Analysis, and Schedule Management.

  • Exceptional capabilities in executive communication, team leadership, strategic negotiations, and Customer Relationship Management.

  • Absolute requirement of U.S. Citizenship to satisfy federal defense contracting mandates.

  • Preferred experience or familiarity with Government Contracting, Integrated Master Schedules, Risk Management Framework, Proposal Development, and comprehensive Contract Execution.

Compensation & Total Rewards

  • Annual base salary range of $105,000 to $175,000, tailored strictly to depth of experience.

  • Full-time, permanent direct-hire placement.

  • Onsite operational structure located in Binghamton, NY, with flexibility for occasional domestic travel and periodic extended operational hours based on critical client milestones.
