Role Overview
We are seeking a Commodity Manager to establish and lead sourcing strategies. This role involves negotiating with suppliers, executing contracts, and driving relationships to optimize competitive positioning and cost of ownership. The position will act as a market intelligence provider and will be instrumental in developing long-term department strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish category sourcing strategies and lead cross-functional strategic sourcing teams.
- Negotiate with suppliers and execute contracts to optimize the organization's competitive position.
- Drive appropriate relationships with category suppliers to achieve optimal solutions and cost of ownership.
- Manage category suppliers to proactively identify, monitor, and optimize opportunities.
- Act as a market intelligence provider, anticipating strategic opportunities and keeping stakeholders informed.
- Lead Supplier Relationship Management activities to mitigate risk and improve performance.
- Identify, achieve, and report on savings and value targets for sourcing activities.
- Negotiate and implement supplier agreements by working with cross-functional stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree is required.
Experience: 5+ years of program or project management experience and 5+ years of supply chain experience are required. Experience owning program strategy from end to end and communicating results to senior leadership is also necessary.
Technical Skills: Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in data analysis, sourcing strategy, and negotiation techniques.
- Experience in vendor relationship management and long-term partnering.
- Expertise in contract execution and management.
- Experience leading sourcing for IT-related commodities, particularly software, networking devices, data center storage, or telecom.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is $62.00/hour to $72.00/hour.
