Senior Program Manager - IT Divestiture

Location: Hybrid (US-based; Houston or DC preferred)

Engagement: Contract through 2027

Work Model: Global, flexible hours (US / UK / Australia)
Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead the entire IT workstream for a large-scale global divestiture, separating into two independent companies. This role has full ownership of IT program execution, including standing up a new IT organization, managing multiple project managers and workstreams, and ensuring safe, disciplined delivery across all technology domains.

This individual serves as the single point of accountability for IT program operations throughout the divestiture lifecycle and works closely with executives, business leaders, and technical teams to deliver a successful separation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own and lead the end-to-end IT divestiture program for the separation
  • Establish and execute the IT roadmap, governance model, and delivery cadence
  • Stand up the new IT organization, including operating model, governance, and processes
  • Manage and coordinate multiple Project Managers and IT workstream leads
  • Oversee all IT domains, including infrastructure, applications, identity, security, network, data, and operations
  • Drive dependency management, risk mitigation, and issue resolution across both organizations during coexistence
  • Provide clear, executive-level reporting on status, risks, and readiness
  • Partner with business, legal, HR, finance, security, and external vendors to ensure alignment and compliance
Required Qualifications

Must-Have Experience
  • 10+ years of enterprise IT program management experience
  • Direct, hands-on experience leading global IT divestitures or carve-outs (required)
  • Proven success managing large, complex, multi-workstream programs
  • Experience standing up or operating a new IT organization or operating model

Leadership & Delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor other PMs and workstream leads
  • Strong execution discipline with the confidence to drive decisions and accountability
  • Executive-level communicator with the ability to translate IT risk into business impact

Technical Acumen
  • Broad understanding of enterprise IT landscapes (applications, infrastructure, identity, security, integrations)
  • Technically credible with architects and engineers (not a hands-on implementation role)

Global Operating Model
  • Experience running programs across multiple regions and time zones
  • Flexible schedule to support US, UK, and Australia stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel periodically for key workshops or leadership sessions
