D365 Business Central Consultant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Dynamics 365 Business Central Consultant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role is based in Fort Worth, Texas, and offers the opportunity to work on-site or in a hybrid arrangement as needed. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in stabilizing, optimizing, and enhancing the functionality of Business Central to meet operational and accounting requirements.

Responsibilities:
Assess the current Dynamics 365 Business Central environment to identify misconfigurations, workflow issues, and data integrity challenges.
Resolve posting errors, optimize foundational setups, and ensure accurate financial records.
Collaborate with accounting teams to address daily processes such as AP, AR, GL postings, bank reconciliations, and month-end activities.
Rebuild financial and operational reporting using Business Central, Power BI, or Excel to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
Provide training to internal IT resources and accounting staff on best practices, workflows, and system navigation.
Develop comprehensive documentation including SOPs, quick guides, and repeatable processes to support long-term system usage.
Troubleshoot integration issues and make necessary configuration adjustments to enhance system functionality.
Partner with leadership to align Business Central capabilities with organizational financial and operational goals.
Enhance system performance and reliability while reducing errors across accounting and operations.
Support inventory costing processes and validate reporting outputs to restore trust in system-generated data.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central, including both functional and technical aspects.
Strong understanding of accounting and finance processes such as GL, AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and inventory costing.
Proven track record of stabilizing or re-implementing Business Central after incomplete or problematic implementations.
Ability to diagnose and resolve posting errors, misconfigurations, and workflow challenges.
Experience in developing accurate financial reports using tools like Account Schedules, Excel, and Power BI.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with non-technical teams.
Demonstrated ability to train business users and IT staff on system functionality and best practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing system inefficiencies.
