Role Overview
A controls engineering team is seeking Controls Engineers to support the development of Controls Systems for complex robotics workcells. These systems are intended for large-scale deployment. The successful candidate will contribute to creating systems that improve throughput, availability, quality, and deployment efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand the operation of complex robotics workcells, including servo drives, industrial networks, safety systems, and host system integration.
- Develop and deploy robotics workcells, applying commissioning best practices and troubleshooting methodologies for integrated systems.
- Own the development of systems and features to improve system throughput, availability, and quality.
- Develop and own system documentation for internal and partner teams.
- Develop and evaluate metrics to assess the performance of machines and systems.
- Perform software development for controls systems.
Required Qualifications
The following are the core requirements for this position.
Experience:- In-depth knowledge of and experience developing controls systems, including PLC and HMI applications.
- Experience integrating components such as drives, barcode readers, and remote sensors.
- Demonstrated system troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with at least one higher-level language and current software development best practices.
Technical Skills:- Proficiency in multiple IEC 61131-3 languages.
- Understanding of basic network troubleshooting, including industrial networks like Ethercat, Ethernet/IP, and ProfibProfinet.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of C, C++, or Java.
- Experience in multi-axis coordinated motion applications.
- Understanding of AWS technologies.
- Experience deploying or managing machines in large-scale, geographically diverse environments.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is $64.00/hr to $74.00/hr.
