Request Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP HCM Consultant with deep on-premise Time Management expertise to support an active public sector engagement.
The individual must have hands-on experience with SAP Time Schema configuration and the ability to navigate the complexity and compliance requirements unique to government and public sector payroll environments.
Engagement Context
The customer is a public sector organization currently running SAP on-premise HCM with a workforce governed by union contracts, collective bargaining agreements, and complex time recording rules.
The engagement requires precise configuration of time evaluation logic to meet regulatory and organizational requirements that cannot be addressed through standard rule groups or substitution rules alone.
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on configuration of SAP Time Schema (TM04 / custom schemas) including personnel calculation rules (PCR), operations and functions
- Deep understanding of Time Evaluation specifically PT60 and the full evaluation flow
- Experience with public sector time rules shift differentials, overtime calculations, comp time, holiday pay, and leave accruals governed by collective bargaining or civil service codes
- Proficiency in Work Schedules, period work schedules, and day types specific to 24/7 shift environments common in government (e.g. fire, police, transit, utilities)
- Familiarity with Absence and Attendance types, quota generation, and time transfer specifications
- Ability to debug and trace time schema logic through transaction PE01/PE02 and logs via PT_DOC00 or similar
- Experience integrating Time Management output with SAP Payroll (infotypes IT0007, IT0050, IT0416, wage type generation via ZES/ZL tables)
Preferred Additional Experience
- Prior work with public sector collective agreements in the US (municipal, state, transit, or utility sectors)
- Exposure to SuccessFactors Time Tracking as a future-state context is a plus but not required
- Business Justification On-premise SAP Time Management schema expertise particularly in public sector is a highly specialized skill set with limited availability in the market and within the partner ecosystem.
- The time schema governs downstream payroll accuracy, labor cost postings, and employee trust.
- Errors or gaps in configuration directly result in payroll errors, grievances under collective bargaining agreements, and potential regulatory exposure for the customer.
- This resource is critical to delivery quality and customer satisfaction on a strategic public sector account.
