Role Overview
An opportunity is available for an Experienced Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Specialist to support an in-service NDT team. This is a non-managerial, non-leadership role focused on technical execution and procedure development. The position is based on the first shift and requires regular and predictable attendance.
Key Responsibilities
- Author Non-Destructive Test (NDT) procedures.
- Incorporate revisions authored by the method Responsible Level III in the standard procedure review process.
- Develop Computer-Assisted Drawings (CAD) of specialized calibration standards.
- Perform setup for non-destructive test or measurement equipment to calibration standards.
- Compose procedure figures providing information on inspection location, geometry, accessibility, probe/transducer placement, and notch signal response.
- Report potential adverse trends or anomalous results.
- Work variable shifts, overtime, and occasional weekends if necessary.
Required Qualifications
Education: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g., Associate degree) and 20 or more years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 20+ years of experience in NDI (non-destructive inspection) or NDT (non-destructive test), and 20+ years working in aerospace in-service support with ultrasonics testing (UT) and/or eddy current (ET). Experience writing UT & ET techniques and inspection procedures is required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in the MS Office Suite is required. Candidates must have the ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
- 25+ years of related work experience.
- 800 hours of Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
- 300 hours of Ultrasonic Shear-Wave Testing.
- 800 hours of Eddy Current Testing (ET).
- Experience with CAD Software.
