RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is hiring a Third Level Support (3LS) Engineer to support our enterprise technology client in Fort Collins, CO. This role provides advanced technical support for complex, escalated customer issues involving workstation hardware, firmware, operating systems, and platform level interactions. This position requires strong technical depth, structured troubleshooting skills, and the ability to operate effectively in an enterprise, customer facing support environment. Candidates must demonstrate applied engineering capability-not just general interest in computers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide third level (3LS) technical support for Workstations, handling complex escalations beyond standard support teams
* Perform deep technical investigation and root cause analysis across hardware, firmware, OS, and system interactions
* Apply logic based, structured troubleshooting methods to isolate failures and validate solutions
* Work cross functionally with engineering, quality, and support teams to drive resolution
* Support customer facing investigations, clearly communicating findings, risks, and recommendations
* Document findings, test results, and conclusions clearly for internal and external stakeholders
* Contribute to team knowledge sharing and help strengthen overall 3LS capability
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
or equivalent hands on experience demonstrating the same skill level
* Strong understanding of PC/workstation architecture
* Hands on experience troubleshooting Windows systems (Linux experience is a plus)
* Experience supporting or debugging enterprise class hardware and software environments
* Ability to troubleshoot both legacy and new platforms
* Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge in real world, production support scenarios
* Experience with enterprise IT or manageability tools is highly valued
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Comfortable working in a customer facing, escalation driven environment
* Analytical, methodical problem solver who relies on logic and evidence-not trial and error
* Able to collaborate effectively with engineers, quality teams, and external partners
* Willingness to learn, grow, and take ownership of complex issues
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
