Senior PeopleSoft Functional Lead – Time & Labor & Absence Management
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior PeopleSoft Functional Lead to lead the implementation of Time & Labor (T&L) and Absence Management (AM) modules within an existing PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 environment.
This role will drive the end-to-end functional design, configuration, and deployment of T&L and AM solutions, while modernizing legacy leave management capabilities currently supported by a custom external system. The Functional Lead will ensure streamlined workflows, improved reporting, regulatory compliance, and alignment with payroll and HRIS integrations.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead functional design and configuration of PeopleSoft Time & Labor and Absence Management modules.
· Translate business requirements into scalable, efficient functional solutions leveraging delivered PeopleSoft capabilities.
· Define business processes, rules, workflows, and approval hierarchies aligned with organizational policies.
· Drive modernization of legacy leave processes and transition functionality into PeopleSoft AM.
· Ensure minimal customization by maximizing use of delivered functionality and best practices.
· Support full lifecycle implementation including requirements gathering, design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
· Configure:
o Time entry, approval workflows, and payable time generation
o Work schedules, reporting structures, and exception handling
o Overtime rules, tracking, and calculations
o Absence accruals, entitlements, eligibility, and policy rules (caps, carryover)
· Support retroactive processing, recalculations, and compliance-driven adjustments.
· Ensure seamless integration with Payroll systems (e.g., SPS) and HRIS platforms.
· Align all configurations with payroll policies, labor laws, and regulatory requirements.
· Collaborate with technical teams to support data integration, interfaces, and reporting solutions.
· Lead functional testing strategy including System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
· Support and validate automated regression testing using PeopleSoft Test Framework (PTF).
· Ensure accuracy of time, absence, and payroll-related data processing.
· Enable enhanced reporting and analytics for:
o Overtime tracking and utilization
o Leave balances and usage trends
o Audit and compliance reporting
· Provide structured knowledge transfer to internal teams and system administrators.
· Develop user training materials and deliver functional training sessions.
· Support transition to operations and ongoing support readiness.
Required Qualifications
· Minimum 7+ years of PeopleSoft HCM functional experience.
· Proven experience implementing Time & Labor and Absence Management modules in PeopleSoft HCM 9.2.
· Strong expertise in:
o Time reporting, payable time, and scheduling
o Absence accruals, entitlements, and leave processing
o Overtime rules and payroll integration
· Solid understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
· Experience facilitating business workshops, requirements gathering, and stakeholder engagement.
· Hands-on experience supporting testing cycles (SIT/UAT) and production deployment.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience replacing or modernizing legacy/custom leave management systems.
· Familiarity with PeopleSoft Test Framework (PTF) for automated testing.
· Experience in public sector or regulated environments.
· Knowledge of integration frameworks and data interfaces within PeopleSoft.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
