Summary

We are seeking a Field Systems Administrator to support infrastructure projects tied to site expansions, relocations, and remodels. This role serves as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues and is heavily involved in both onsite deployments and remote support. The ideal candidate is hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable working in fast-paced, project-driven environments with significant travel requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Support infrastructure initiatives related to site expansions, relocations, and remodels for distributed client environments.
  • Perform onsite and remote technical work, including network cutovers, VoIP implementations, and system migrations.
  • Provide on-site and remote troubleshooting across core networking concepts and services, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, firewall configurations, load balancing, and IP routing principles.
  • Lead and participate in customer-facing kickoff calls and live support sessions.
  • Act as a senior escalation point (Tier 4/5) for complex issues beyond the Help Desk.
  • Troubleshoot and support Windows environments, Microsoft Office, and on-prem server infrastructure.
  • Assist with virtualization environments (VMware/Hyper-V) and transitions to updated network hardware.
  • Support networking configurations and troubleshooting, particularly in environments with integrated medical devices.
  • Maintain and contribute to technical documentation using IT Glue.
  • Provide after-hours support as needed for project work and field operations.

Must-Haves
  • 5+ Years of professional experience supporting Windows environments as a Systems Administrator.
  • Experience supporting infrastructure projects such as site builds, relocations, or hardware refreshes.
  • Ability to travel domestically as needed (approximately 30% monthly, primarily via air travel).
  • Ability to support both onsite deployments and remote technical work.
  • Experience troubleshooting and supporting end-user hardware, including desktops/laptops, printers, scanners, and VoIP telephony devices.
  • Strong knowledge of client connectivity technologies, including Ethernet, TCP/IP protocols, and VPN configurations.

Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience with Fortinet networking equipment and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with VoIP systems and network cutover activities.
  • Proficiency with PowerShell scripting (automation or execution of pre-built scripts).
  • Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Strong documentation habits and experience maintaining technical knowledge bases.
  • Experience working with healthcare or device-integrated environments.
