We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support complex business and technology initiatives in Southern California. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who can connect business priorities with technical execution, especially in data, reporting, and system integration environments. The role works closely with stakeholders, architects, developers, data engineers, and vendors to shape requirements, improve business processes, and help deliver reliable solutions in an onsite setting four days per week.
Responsibilities:
Partner with business teams and technical stakeholders to uncover, analyze, and confirm functional, non-functional, data, and integration needs for new and existing solutions.
Produce and maintain clear project documentation such as business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, workflow diagrams, and use cases to support delivery teams.
Evaluate enterprise data sources, business workflows, and information movement to identify gaps, improvement opportunities, and solution recommendations.
Define data rules, field relationships, source-to-target mappings, and transformation logic to support reporting, analytics, and broader data platform initiatives.
Gather and document integration expectations, including interface behavior, payload details, mapping logic, and end-to-end process interactions across connected systems.
Work with architects, developers, data engineers, and vendors to review solution approaches, align technical design decisions with business goals, and support implementation planning.
Contribute to agile delivery activities by assisting with backlog refinement, prioritization discussions, and identification of dependencies, risks, and business impacts.
Develop acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and system-to-system validation plans while coordinating business testing and confirming that delivered functionality meets expectations.
Assist with troubleshooting production issues tied to data or integrations, support root cause analysis, and recommend continuous improvements after deployment.
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience working as a Business Systems Analyst or Business Analyst in enterprise technology environments.
Background supporting full project lifecycle work, including requirements gathering, design collaboration, testing, implementation, and post-production support.
Hands-on experience with data analysis, data integration, reporting, analytics, or data warehousing initiatives.
Ability to create structured documentation such as BRDs, functional requirements, user stories, process flows, specifications, and test artifacts.
Familiarity with system-to-system integrations, data exchanges, and cross-functional solution delivery involving business and technical teams.
Strong communication skills with the ability to serve as an effective liaison among stakeholders, business partners, vendors, and development teams.
Experience working in onsite environments and collaborating across multiple disciplines to support implementation and production readiness activities.
