JOB TITLE:Quality Assurance Engineer
EST. START DATE: ASAP
DURATION: 9 months, high potential to extend based on performance
LOCATION: HYBRID, onsite at Seattle, WA OR Tempe, AZ
HYBRID: x3 days onsite, no set days in office, strictly depends on what stage the project is in
HOURS: 9a-5p core, no OT, no holidays
PAY RATE: $44-$50 HOURLY
JOB DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) for a contract position. The ideal candidate has great communication skills, can remove roadblocks, detail oriented, and has a knack for breaking websites. QAE's regularly work with Developers, Product Managers and other Quality Engineers to ensure the proper operation of the production environment. During the development cycle, QAEs identify use cases, create test cases, execute tests, and report results.
TEAM FOCUS / KEY PROJECTS:
- QA helps in the forums and news space as they launch new features
- User experience testing / integration testing
- Launching new front end features for sellers
QUALIFICATIONS: 4+ years of exp
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience 4+ years industry experience testing software, including website applications.
- Experience with HTML, JavaScript, Java and SQL is desired, but not required.
- Experience with Selenium highly desired # Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Proficiency working in a Linux/Unix environment.
- Experience with QA process and Software Development Life Cycle.
WHAT IS THIS CONTRACTOR SPECIFICALLY DOING?
- Managing a spread sheet-based schedule (what feature am I working on, or next feature being worked on)
- Involve engagement with product manager to understand the behavior they are expecting with the feature
- Work with engineering team to test that the behavior delivered is meeting needs of what is specified
- Helping with testing automation: test and retest features - skills in terms of automating and make it more efficiently
- Searching for curiosity on how to make things better
ROLE HIGHLIGHTS:
- The team is looking for a self-starter, someone who is competetent and willing to be in a role that requires someone to work on their own
- This team encourages contractors to use AI tools to automate and become more efficient
- Contractor will be exposed to an environment that pushes learning and having a curious mindset
