POSITION SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES
Functions as a computer hardware technician responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of desktops, laptops, printers, and other end-user devices. Provides hands-on technical support to ensure systems are operating efficiently and end users are fully supported.
Diagnoses hardware and basic software issues, replaces components, and performs system upgrades as needed. Installs and configures operating systems, drivers, and standard business applications.
Supports onboarding and offboarding activities including device setup, imaging, and user configuration. Maintains accurate inventory of hardware assets and ensures proper documentation of repairs and service requests.
Collaborates with IT team members to escalate complex issues and support overall infrastructure reliability. Provides timely and professional customer service to internal users.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of specialized electronics or IT-related coursework required. Associate’s degree in electronics, information technology, or a related field preferred.
At least one year of experience in desktop support, hardware repair, or IT support required. Relevant internship experience may be considered in place of on-the-job experience.
Hands-on experience supporting Windows environments (Windows 10/11 preferred) and Microsoft Office products required. Familiarity with basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, printers, connectivity issues) preferred.
Experience with imaging tools, ticketing systems, and asset management is a plus. A+ Certification preferred.
Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users are essential.
