Mid-Level React Native Mobile Developer to support ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and day-to-day stability of our mobile application. This role is
not a senior engineering position and is intentionally scoped for someone who is still growing in their career but has solid fundamentals and a strong desire to learn. You will work directly under our Senior Mobile Engineer, supporting backlog items, bug fixes, and incremental improvements.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants exposure to enterprise-level mobile development, mentorship from a senior engineer, and the chance to grow into larger projects as they arise.
Responsibilities- Support the mobile application through backlog work, bug fixes, and keep-the-lights-on tasks.
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Mobile Engineer, who will provide direction and technical oversight.
- Develop features and enhancements using React Native.
- Make standard API calls to backend services (hosted via MuleSoft; no MuleSoft experience required).
- Assist with routine updates, testing, and maintenance of the mobile app.
- Communicate clearly and proactively with the team, especially when blocked or needing guidance.
- Participate in code reviews and follow established engineering practices.
- Leverage AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude) to improve productivity and accelerate learning.
Required Qualifications- 3+ years of mobile development experience.
- 2+ years of hands-on React Native experience.
- Strong understanding of mobile fundamentals, debugging, and app lifecycle.
- Experience consuming REST APIs.
- Strong communication skills - must be proactive, clear, and reliable.
- Ability to work under direction and follow established patterns and architecture.
- Interest in leveraging AI tools to enhance development workflow.
Nice-to-Have- Experience with Apple App Store or Google Play Store processes (not required; handled by senior engineer).
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps.
- Familiarity with cloud-based backend systems.
Work Environment- Remote role; must be located in Eastern or Central time zones.
- Must be fluent in English.
- Must be responsible, reliable, and able to work core hours (8:30 AM - 4:00 PM ET).
- A MacBook is required for development (provided by the company).
