Job#: 3027331 Job Description: Job DescriptionThis contingent role supports complex, large-scale software initiatives by providing expert-level UX design, design engineering, and AI-assisted workflow innovation. You will lead user-centered design efforts, evaluate multi-layered design challenges, and deliver intuitive, scalable, and accessible digital experiences. The role requires deep UX expertise, strong collaboration with engineering, and the ability to design reusable components and patterns that accelerate product delivery across teams.
You will operate as a hybrid practitioner-equally comfortable in UX strategy, hands-on design execution, and "code-adjacent" collaboration. This includes leveraging AI tools to speed prototyping, exploration, and design-to-code workflows. The position also involves partnering with cross-functional teams, mentoring others, and contributing to a shared design system.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end User-Centered Design (UCD) processes from discovery through delivery.
- Translate complex requirements into clear user flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes using Figma.
- Create intuitive, accessible, and visually compelling interfaces aligned with user needs and business goals.
- Use AI-assisted workflows to accelerate prototyping, exploration, and design-to-code collaboration.
- Collaborate within Agile/Scrum teams, participating in sprints, stand-ups, planning, and retrospectives.
- Conduct lightweight design validation (UX reviews, usability checks, accessibility basics) to reduce rework before development.
- Advocate for consistent design system components, UI patterns, and accessibility best practices.
- Maintain detailed design documentation for development handoff, including interaction specs, states, and accessibility notes.
- Partner with engineering to design and ship reusable UI components and contribute enhancements to shared design system assets.
- Deliver high-impact product design work while scaling reusable patterns, templates, and best-practice guidance across teams.
- Present and defend design decisions to peers and senior stakeholders.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on customer experience and participate in roadmap planning.
- May mentor or oversee work performed by other designers.
Required Qualifications- 5+ years of UX design experience, ideally designing complex solutions across diverse technology stacks.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and design collaboration.
- Strong understanding of User-Centered Design principles, methods, and tools.
- Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to partner closely with engineering on implementation details, component behavior, and accessibility requirements.
- Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining user journeys, personas, and user flows.
- Familiarity with usability testing, accessibility standards (WCAG), and responsive design.
- Excellent communication skills-able to clearly articulate design decisions and rationale.
- Experience contributing to or building design systems.
- Strong background applying UX best practices within large organizations.
- Ability to translate strategic vision and detailed requirements into complete, user-centered experiences.
Desired Qualifications- Ability to iterate designs quickly and intelligently based on feedback.
- Experience conducting user research, usability testing, A/B testing, heuristic evaluations, and accessibility reviews.
- Proven ability to work across multiple workstreams and collaborate with leadership.
- Experience shipping or co-developing coded UI components in partnership with engineering.
- Familiarity with AI tools (design apps, IDEs, LLMs) and AI-assisted workflows such as research synthesis, prototyping acceleration, and design-to-code automation.
Additional Details- Locations: Preferred - Irving, TX; Secondary - Charlotte or Minneapolis
- Onsite Expectation: Hybrid (ROC)
