Salary Range: $78,000 - $123,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Cadillac that are seeking Embedded Systems Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and test firmware for new manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and debug embedded systems in existing production machinery.
• Design and implement control algorithms for robotic assembly lines.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers on system integration.
• Optimize embedded software for performance, reliability, and power consumption.
• Perform root cause analysis on embedded system failures and implement corrective actions.
• Document design specifications, test plans, and code for embedded systems.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in embedded software development for manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming for microcontrollers and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, PROFINET).
• Familiarity with hardware-software integration and debugging using tools like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and control systems.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) beyond basic implementations.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherCAT, PROFINET, Modbus).
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex hardware/software interactions in a production environment.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for test automation and data analysis.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles as they apply to embedded systems and industrial control.
