Senior Network Engineer
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid - Onsite 2 Days per Week)
Employment Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our Infrastructure team supporting multiple enterprise campuses across the Los Angeles area. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and optimization of enterprise networking environments, including routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will bring deep hands-on networking expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment while partnering with employees at all levels, from executive leadership to end users.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure across multiple campuses and remote sites.
- Configure and support Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching environments.
- Administer and optimize firewall platforms, with a strong focus on Fortinet/FortiGate solutions.
- Design, implement, and support enterprise wireless networks.
- Monitor network performance, capacity, and availability while proactively addressing issues.
- Perform network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure refreshes.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, standards, and operational procedures.
- Partner with security, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure reliable and secure connectivity.
- Provide technical guidance and support during incident resolution and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across all organizational levels, including executive leadership, technical teams, and end users.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience as a Network Engineer supporting enterprise-level networking environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Layer 2 and Layer 3 switch deployment and administration
- Enterprise routing and switching
- Fortinet/FortiGate firewall administration, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Enterprise wireless networking technologies
- Experience implementing, upgrading, and supporting network infrastructure across multiple locations.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
- Strong understanding of network security best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders ranging from senior executives to end users.
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE certification.
- Fortinet certifications.
- HPE networking certifications.
- Experience supporting large campus or multi-site enterprise environments.
- Experience within entertainment, startup, government, or other enterprise organizations.
