Pay Rate: $69 - $74
Top Requirements:

5+ years Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent via work, consulting, training, or military background.

Vulnerability Scanning - MUST HAVE (strong, hands-on background).

Experience with Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7, or similar enterprise vulnerability tools.

Cloud security knowledge - Azure, AWS, etc.

Experience working with Jira (coding within Jira workflows is a plus).

Experience supporting large-scale initiatives and leading deployments.

Strong understanding of CVE, CWE, CVSS frameworks.

Plusses:

IoT/OT vulnerability scanning (NICE TO HAVE).

Python, API automation, and scripting experience.

Exposure to new/emerging cloud security tools.

Ability to hit the ground running in a lead engineering role.

Job Summary:

This is a Lead Information Security Engineer role focused on enterprise vulnerability scanning, cloud security, and tool modernization. The engineer will lead deployment efforts, support large-scale vulnerability scanning initiatives, and collaborate across multiple engineering and security teams.

The role requires deep knowledge of vulnerability tools, cloud platforms, issue management, and security frameworks, along with strong leadership, communication, and project-driven execution.

This individual will act as the primary driver of vulnerability scanning strategy and execution, while also contributing to planning meetings and cross-functional alignment.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Lead enterprise-level vulnerability scanning efforts across cloud and on-premise environments.
• Perform hands-on engineering with Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7, and similar scanners.
• Support IoT/OT vulnerability scanning (where applicable).
• Use Jira for backlog management, workflow coding, dependency tracking, and reporting.
• Lead deployment efforts for new security tooling and vulnerability scanning initiatives.
• Participate in planning and execution meetings as the lead engineer.
• Analyze and interpret vulnerability data using CVE, CWE, CVSS standards.
• Collaborate with cloud teams on scanning coverage for Azure, AWS, and other cloud environments.
• Work with cross-functional engineering, architecture, and application teams to resolve findings.
• Support automation efforts using Python, APIs, and scripting (optional but beneficial).
• Provide subject-matter leadership in vulnerability scanning strategy and tool adoption.
