Osp Technician

Job Summary

We are looking for an entry-level Outside Plant (OSP) Technician to support basic cabling and infrastructure work connected to a data center. This role is well suited for someone who is comfortable doing hands-on work, working outdoors, and learning new skills on the job. No prior OSP or fiber experience is required-training will be provided.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, and willing to perform physical work while developing foundational knowledge of telecommunications and data center infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with basic installation and maintenance of fiber and copper cables
• Help route, label, and organize cabling under direction from senior technicians
• Perform simple inspections of conduits, handholes, and entry points
• Support outdoor work related to cabling and infrastructure
• Use basic tools and equipment safely and correctly
• Follow written instructions, safety procedures, and work plans
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety requirements
• Accurately document completed work and observations
• Work collaboratively with teammates and ask questions as needed

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Comfortable performing physical work, including standing, bending, walking, and lifting
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to follow instructions and learn new tasks
• Basic reliability skills (on time, communicates, completes assigned work)
• Basic computer skills for simple documentation

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sandston, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
