Role Overview
An immediate opening is available for a Technical Program Manager to scale standardized Method of Procedure (MOP) development for data center infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for developing and managing high-quality technical procedures that affect critical capacity delivery. The projects require timely execution with high degrees of security, performance, availability, and reliability. The position serves as a bridge between engineering teams and regional stakeholders who rely on standardized procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage high-quality technical procedures for data center infrastructure projects.
- Define MOP requirements, plan delivery timelines, and coordinate engineering reviews.
- Manage the approval workflow through established policy.
- Provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance business needs versus technical constraints.
- Work with the business side of projects to drive the deployment of standardized MOPs across sites.
- Act as a liaison between Principal Engineers, site Chief Engineers, and regional stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Education: An undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience is required.
Experience: 5 or more years of industry experience as a technical program manager, project manager, or technical lead in data center or critical infrastructure environments. This includes 3 or more years working in data center environments such as operations, construction, commissioning, or critical facilities. Demonstrated technical writing experience with MOPs, SOPs, work instructions, or technical procedures is necessary, with writing samples required.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of data center electrical systems including UPS, generators, switchgear, busway, PDUs, and ATSs, along with electrical safety practices. Familiarity with electrical one-line diagrams, panel schedules, circuit verification procedures, and change management workflows is expected.
Preferred Qualifications
- A proven track record of working effectively across different groups within an organization.
- A record of successful delivery of technical procedures from conception through engineering review and site deployment.
- An entrepreneurial spirit with strong technical writing and program management skills.
- Ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to achieve objectives.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $63.00 and $73.00 per hour. Please note that this is a contract role and benefits may differ from full-time employment.
