Top Requirements:
4+ years of Database Engineering experience (ideal candidate equivalent to a senior engineer with ~5 years of hands-on engineering experience).Strong hands-on expertise with SQL, ETL development, and data pipeline engineering, including PySpark, Autosys, and Ab Initio.Experience building and supporting large-scale data platforms, including Big Data technologies and distributed processing environments.Plusses:
Cloud platform experience, preferably Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), including BigQuery; experience with Teradata or Hadoop is a plus.Exposure to data migrations and possession of Google Cloud certifications or other relevant cloud certifications.Job Summary:
In this contingent resource assignment, the Database Engineer will consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Database Engineering and contribute to large-scale planning efforts. The role involves reviewing and analyzing moderately complex Database Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of variable technical and operational factors.
The engineer will contribute to resolving moderately complex issues by leveraging a solid understanding of database engineering practices, enterprise policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. This role requires close collaboration with client personnel across Database Engineering and business partner teams.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and support data pipelines supporting Fraud and Claims Analysis applications
Participate in the migration of the enterprise data platform from Teradata to Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), targeting year-end completion
Work within a large-scale data environment (~1,000 TB of data, 600-700 tables)
Build and maintain solutions using Google Cloud Platform BigQuery, PySpark, Hadoop, Ab Initio, Dremio, and S3-based storage grids
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver reliable, scalable data solutions for Fraud-related applications
Support ongoing enhancements, performance tuning, and operational stability of data pipelines
Operate within standard business hours with occasional ad-hoc support for troubleshooting activities
Adhere to enterprise data governance, security, and compliance standards
