Description
We are looking for an experienced SAP Upgrade Specialist to lead and execute system upgrades in a dynamic wholesale distribution environment. This role involves modernizing SAP systems while ensuring all testing and quality assurance tools are seamlessly integrated and updated. As a long-term contract position, it offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment and drive impactful changes in Irving, Texas.
Responsibilities:
Conduct a thorough assessment of the current SAP landscape, including versions, integrations, and customizations.
Develop and implement a detailed upgrade roadmap for SAP systems and related tools such as qTest, Tosca, LiveCompare, and NeoLoad.
Lead the execution of SAP upgrades across modules and components, coordinating efforts with Basis, QA, and infrastructure teams.
Validate connections between SAP systems, middleware, and testing platforms to ensure seamless integration.
Collaborate with QA teams to define testing cycles, update test suites, and analyze upgrade impacts using tools like LiveCompare.
Oversee performance and load testing initiatives using NeoLoad to ensure system stability post-upgrade.
Document upgrade steps, version changes, test plans, and system configurations to maintain clarity and consistency.
Provide knowledge transfer sessions to technical and functional teams for effective post-upgrade management.
Support go-live activities by planning and executing cutovers, monitoring system performance, and resolving any defects.
Ensure continuous functionality of testing tools after system upgrades and cutovers.
Requirements
Proven experience leading SAP system upgrades in complex environments.
Hands-on expertise with tools such as qTest, Tosca, LiveCompare, and NeoLoad.
Strong background in coordinating multi-system upgrade efforts and managing cross-functional teams.
Solid understanding of QA automation, impact analysis, and performance testing methodologies.
Ability to assess risks, identify remediation steps, and develop comprehensive upgrade plans.
Strong technical skills in Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP), Epicor, and Oracle NetSuite Technologies.
Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager, Readiness Check, and SAP S/4HANA upgrade paths.
Excellent communication, planning, and documentation skills to facilitate seamless project execution.
