Senior Developer — Healthcare Automation

Location: US (Onshore)

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior RPA Developer who can take automation blueprints and turn them into stable, production-grade bots — fast. In this role, you will be the hands-on build force behind Genzeon''s payer-side Prior Authorization automation, working within a defined solution architecture to develop, test, deploy, and maintain UiPath automations that operate in live healthcare environments.

You will work closely with the Solution Architect, Business Analysts, and clinical SMEs to understand PA workflows across specialty categories — DME, PT/OT, oncology, and pharmacy — and translate those requirements into reliable, reusable automation components. This is a high-output, high-ownership developer role on a greenfield product with real client deployments.

What You''ll Do

  • Develop end-to-end RPA solutions using UiPath Studio, RE-Framework, and Orchestrator across the full PA automation lifecycle — intake, clinical criteria processing, decisioning, letter generation, appeals, and dismissals
  • Build and maintain reusable automation components, libraries, sequences, and flowcharts aligned to the solution architect''s design standards and UiPath best practices
  • Integrate bots with healthcare systems including Epic, payer portals, UM platforms, and document management systems using UI automation, API calls, and data scraping techniques
  • Manage bot deployment, scheduling, robot provisioning, work queues, assets, and production monitoring in UiPath Orchestrator across UAT and production environments
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and clinical SMEs during requirements gathering and PDD development to ensure automation specifications are technically feasible before build begins
  • Contribute to Process Definition Documents (PDDs) and Solution Design Documents (SDDs), and produce operational runbooks and high-level design documentation for each deployed process
  • Develop automated test cases, support pre-UAT testing, execute regression testing, and document and resolve defects through to production sign-off
  • Handle production issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), implement fixes, and communicate resolution status to project stakeholders
  • Implement structured exception handling, alerting, and logging for every automation process to ensure robust, error-tolerant production behavior
  • Ensure all bots are developed and deployed in compliance with HIPAA and PHI handling requirements
  • Support hypercare period post-deployment and conduct knowledge transfer to support teams
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies — sprint planning, daily standups, task estimation, and sprint reviews — as a contributing member of the delivery team

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of hands-on UiPath development experience with a track record of delivering stable bots in production environments
  • Deep proficiency in UiPath Studio, RE-Framework, Orchestrator, and core automation techniques including UI automation, data scraping, PDF/document handling, email automation, and mainframe interaction
  • Healthcare industry experience — you have built or maintained bots in environments subject to HIPAA, PHI, and clinical system constraints
  • Experience integrating UiPath automations with REST APIs, relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle), and enterprise applications
  • Hands-on experience authoring PDDs, SDDs, runbooks, and high-level design documents that support both delivery teams and post-production support
  • Strong understanding of exception handling design — you build bots that fail gracefully and alert clearly, not bots that silently break in production
  • Ability to translate business and clinical requirements into technical specifications and work independently through the full development lifecycle
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery and tools including JIRA, Confluence, or Azure DevOps
  • Experience supporting UAT, conducting defect triage, and managing change control in structured delivery environments

Nice to Have

  • UiPath Developer certification (Advanced preferred)
  • Blue Prism development experience or certification
  • Experience automating Epic, HealthRules, or other healthcare payer/provider platform applications
  • Familiarity with UiPath AI Center, Document Understanding, or Action Center for handling unstructured clinical documents
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines using Git and Azure DevOps
  • Python or JavaScript scripting experience to supplement automation workflows
  • Prior experience in a payer, managed care, or health IT vendor environment

Why This Role

You will be building automation that directly affects how prior authorization decisions get processed at real payer clients — not maintaining legacy bots or working through a ticket queue. From day one, you will be developing new processes in a greenfield environment, working alongside clinical experts and a UiPath-partnered product team. If you want your development work to have visible, measurable impact on healthcare operations, this is the role.
