Title: Software Asset Manager

Mission: The Software Asset Manager for the Americas Zone is a critical role within the IT VMO team, responsible for the strategic oversight and day-to-day management of the software portfolio across the USA, Canada, and Latin America. The primary mission is to ensure license compliance, minimize financial risk during audits, and pursue cost-optimization opportunities within our complex global environment. This role serves as the bridge between IT Sourcing, Legal, Finance and IT, ensuring that every software asset provides maximum value to the L''Oréal business.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Audit Defense: Lead the preparation and defense for external vendor audits (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe, SAP) to mitigate financial and legal exposure.
Cost Optimization & Savings: Identify underutilized licenses and implement optimization processes. Analyze usage data to provide recommendations for contract renewals and right-sizing subscriptions (SaaS/Cloud).
Vendor Relationship Management: Partner with IT Sourcing & VMO to manage relationships with key AMER vendors. Review terms and conditions for new software contracts to ensure SAM requirements are met.
Governance & Reporting: Maintain the "Single Source of Truth" for software assets within the Americas Zone. Produce monthly KPIs for senior IT leadership at Zone and Global level regarding coverage, compliance status, spend analysis, and optimization progress.
Technical Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: 3-5 years of dedicated experience in Software Asset Management within a large, multinational corporate environment.
SAM Tooling Mastery: Advanced proficiency in ServiceNow SAM Pro is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate experience in configuring discovery patterns, managing entitlements, and running reconciliation engines within the ServiceNow ecosystem.
Advanced Analytics: Expert-level Excel skills are required (VLOOKUPs, Index/Match, Pivot Tables, Power Query) for normalizing large datasets from disparate sources.
Licensing Knowledge: Deep understanding of various licensing models, including:
SaaS: Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, Salesforce.
Cloud/Infrastructure: Azure, AWS (BYOL models).
On-Premise: Per-core, per-user, and device-based licensing.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Finance, or a related field. CSAM (Certified Software Asset Manager) or similar IAITAM/L''Oréal-recognized certifications are highly preferred.
