Construction Superintendent Level 2

Role Overview

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing field construction activities for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This role focuses on mechanical and electrical installation, quality assurance and control, safety compliance, and contractor coordination. The position ensures all construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications, engineering drawings, and commissioning requirements. The Superintendent reports to an onsite Construction Manager and acts as the primary field representative for construction execution and quality management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee field construction activities for utility-scale BESS projects, with a focus on mechanical and electrical installation.
  • Manage QA/QC oversight, safety compliance, and coordination with the EPC contractor.
  • Serve as the primary field representative for construction execution and quality management.
  • Coordinate daily activities between EPC contractors, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support for project planning, including reviewing plant design criteria and contract documents.
  • Support route development and refinement for energy projects, including conducting field visits to ensure pre-construction preparation.
  • Communicate risks and updates with subject matter experts across various departments.
Required Qualifications

Education: An Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.

Experience: A minimum of 6 to 10 years of experience is required in supporting the technical and financial aspects of construction projects, including contractor oversight.

Technical Skills: A functional understanding of criteria for route development, including cost, engineering concerns, and environmental constraints is necessary. Experience with route refinement using value engineering or similar concepts is also required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with geospatial applications such as Google Earth and/or GIS is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00/hour to $37.96/hour.
