Position Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Windows OS Engineer to support enterprise-level endpoint performance, stability, and remediation initiatives. This role focuses on deep Windows OS troubleshooting, endpoint analytics, and root-cause analysis to proactively identify and resolve workstation performance issues across Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with strong experience analyzing Windows event logs, performance metrics, and system internals, who thrives in complex environments and enjoys collaborating with cross-functional IT teams to drive lasting technical improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
Analyze endpoint analytics, Windows event logs, and system telemetry to identify performance bottlenecks and recurring issues
Investigate and resolve Windows OS-related incidents, including:
Operating system stability and performance issues
Software installation, configuration, and compatibility challenges
Network connectivity and latency issues
Conflicts with third-party applications and drivers
Perform root-cause analysis and implement effective remediation strategies
Monitor system performance trends and recommend optimization improvements
Partner with infrastructure, networking, security, and support teams to resolve complex, cross-domain technical issues
Create and maintain technical documentation, remediation reports, and investigation summaries
Provide regular status updates on active investigations and resolutions
Required Skills / Education:
Required Technical Skills:
Strong expertise in Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems, architecture, and internals
Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and supporting Windows on laptops, desktops, and servers
Proven experience troubleshooting Windows updates, patches, and service packs
Solid understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and domain configurations
Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN
Experience with PowerShell scripting and command-line tools for automation and diagnostics
Familiarity with WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation)
Proficiency using performance and diagnostic tools such as:
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:
Deep understanding of computer architecture, hardware components, firmware, BIOS, and device drivers
Knowledge of OS internals (memory management, process/threading, CPU scheduling, and security)
Experience benchmarking and optimizing workstation performance against industry standards
Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar automation tools
Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
Familiarity with OS hardening, security controls, and performance trade-offs
Experience with disk encryption technologies such as BitLocker or SecureDoc
Understanding of external peripherals (docks, input devices) and their impact on system stability
Experience with endpoint analytics tools such as Tanium
Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies including Hyper-V and VMware
Deliverables:
Regular status updates on Windows investigations and findings
Detailed remediation and performance optimization reports
Clear documentation of system configurations and infrastructure dependencies
