Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Application Programmer III to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python server-side development within financial markets and a proven ability to design, build, and support complex components in front-office derivatives risk or trading workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain complex server-side components in Python for trading and risk platforms.
- Collaborate with front-office and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
- Implement Agile and Lean development practices, including backlog refinement, iterative delivery, and continuous improvement.
- Triage, prioritize, and resolve issues independently in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of strong Python development experience building complex server-side components. Java experience is a plus.
- Experience in financial services, preferably markets, with exposure to front-office derivatives risk, pre-trade/origination, or post-trade management systems.
- Strong understanding of Agile and Lean software development practices and associated tools.
- Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders, clarify complex requirements, and communicate solutions clearly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of Bank of America Quartz technology stack.
- Pricing and risk knowledge for derivative products, including Greeks and scenario analysis.
- Equity derivatives product knowledge such as futures, options, and convertibles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office for documentation and presentation.
