Summary

We are looking for a Senior SQL Server DBA for our client in Charlotte, NC

Job Title: Senior SQL Server DBA

Job Location: Charlotte, NC

Job Type: Contract

Job Overview:

Responsibilities:

Validate infrastructure readiness for SQL Server workloads.
Storage configuration (data/log/tempdb separation).
Disk latency and throughput.
VM sizing (CPU, memory).
IO bottlenecks.
CPU contention.
Network latency.

Validate and Troubleshoot:

Windows Failover Clusters.
AG connectivity and endpoints.
Listener and DNS configurations.
Assist in AG migration execution and performance monitoring.
Analyze SQL waits and correlate with infra metrics.
Storage performance issues.
Network/firewall delays.
Cluster misconfigurations.
Contribute to automation of validation and health checks.

Required Skills:

Strong SQL Server DBA experience (HA/DR + performance).
Good understanding.
Windows Failover Clustering.
Virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper V/Azure).
Disk latency (ms).
CPU ready / contention.
Network throughput.
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Experience in cross team (infra + DBA) collaboration.

Nice to Have:

Exposure to SAN / storage architecture.
Experience troubleshooting performance in virtualized environments.
Monitoring tools experience (SentryOne, OEM, etc.).
