Role Overview
We are seeking an Electromechanical Technician for a contract position. This role involves performing maintenance and troubleshooting on material handling equipment in an operations facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in both electrical and mechanical systems and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
- Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
- Lead and audit preventative maintenance procedures.
- Create and close out work orders with data including labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.
- Develop training plans for team members.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE), which includes belts, motors, photo-eyes, and relays.
- Maintain a positive working relationship across the operations facility.
- Track and store department inventory.
- Move up to 49 lbs and stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of electro-mechanical experience.
- 2-year degree or equivalent training.
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with automated systems and controls.
- 3+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment.
- 3+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
- 3+ years of experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles.
- Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards in accordance with OEM and safety standards.
- Project management experience.
- Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Experience with robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.
