Position Title: Senior Business Systems Analyst
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Salary Range: $85,000 - $115,000
Overview
The Senior Business Systems Analyst serves as the strategic owner of the organization's ERP and related applications. This role ensures system stability, data accuracy, strong integrations, and alignment with IT and business standards. The position is responsible for long term applications strategy, system optimization, and ensuring high quality data and reporting across the company.
Key Responsibilities
ERP System Management
- Oversee the overall performance, stability, and reliability of the ERP system.
- Manage ERP configuration, permissions, environments, and advanced troubleshooting.
- Coordinate issue resolution with IT teams and external vendors.
- Monitor system performance and data integrity, identifying recurring issues and root causes.
- Provide expert guidance on best practices and system utilization.
Business Analysis
- Analyze ERP data to support optimization efforts and improve reporting accuracy.
- Partner with business leaders to gather structured requirements and understand process gaps.
- Document system workflows, processes, and user guidance.
- Support business functions such as inventory analysis and other ERP driven activities.
Technical Systems Ownership
- Configure and maintain ERP modules, workflows, automation, and system settings.
- Manage integrations between the ERP and third party systems.
- Collaborate with IT on system security, access controls, and compliance.
- Support audits, documentation, and data governance standards.
Project Management
- Serve as the technical lead for ERP upgrades, module deployments, and implementation projects.
- Own system readiness, testing plans, and post deployment stabilization.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, configuration standards, and system guidelines.
- Create role based usage documentation to promote consistency across teams.
Training & Support
- Develop system documentation, process standards, and role based instructions.
- Provide support and troubleshooting for ERP and system related issues.
- Work with vendors and technical teams to resolve complex problems.
- Assist with data validation, cleansing, and reconciliation.
Continuous Improvement & Strategy
- Identify opportunities to improve system scalability, automation, and performance.
- Contribute to the broader IT applications roadmap and systems strategy.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong proficiency in business analysis practices and methodologies.
- Deep understanding of ERP systems (Visual, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics); Infor Visual experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with SQL and experience building reports in Power BI.
- Strong project management capability.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in fast paced or high pressure environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize, adapt, and collaborate across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a technical business systems, ERP, or IT aligned role.
- Experience leading projects, defining requirements, and producing actionable insights.
- Hands on experience managing ERP systems and supporting multiple modules.
- Experience working with IT teams, vendors, or consultants on integrations, governance, or compliance.
- Background in a manufacturing, distribution, or operations environment preferred.
