Position: Senior SRE

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team on a contingent basis. In this role, you will consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Systems Operations Engineering. You will analyze and resolve multi-faceted challenges, collaborate strategically with client personnel, and contribute to the development of scalable, resilient, and automated systems. This position requires a strong background in systems engineering, technology architecture, and site reliability engineering (SRE) practices.
Responsibilities: - Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Systems Operations Engineering.
- Analyze and resolve multi-faceted, larger-scale, or longer-term Systems Operations Engineering challenges.
- Collaborate strategically with client personnel to meet deliverables and compliance requirements.
- Design and implement automated tooling to eliminate manual toil and optimize operations.
- Build and enhance monitoring, alerting, and overall observability.
- Champion SRE practices by modeling best practices, mentoring peers, and collaborating with embedded platform SRE teams.
- Enhance system availability in a multi-cloud environment by evolving resiliency patterns.
- Introduce and scale AIOps, including self-healing and autonomic systems using AI/ML and RPA.
- Automate key SRE metrics and IT service operations processes, including customer impact analysis, availability tracking, SLO/SLI adherence, error budgeting, and incident response.
- Support critical applications and customer journeys, lead Agile-based remediation efforts, and conduct blameless postmortems.
- Implement and guide through Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) during modernization and uplift initiatives.
- Define, govern, and enforce Permit to Operate standards.
Qualifications: - 5+ years of Systems Engineering or Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work, consulting experience, training, military experience, or education.
- 2+ years of experience leading, operating, and performing within an SRE team.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Java/J2EE, with experience in REST APIs, microservices, and messaging technologies (Kafka, MQ).
- Expertise in Linux, container platforms (Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (PCF, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure).
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, SonarQube, Artifactory, and Ansible.
- Strong skills in observability tools like Grafana, Prometheus, ELK/Splunk, AppDynamics, and AIOps platforms like Moogsoft.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Remedy) and data platforms (Oracle, MongoDB, Hadoop).
- Understanding of AI/ML concepts, including classification, regression, clustering, and anomaly detection.
- Strong soft skills, including written and verbal communication.
- Understanding of AutoSys and foundational AI skills.

Pay Range: $65 - $75/h on W2
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
