Controls Engineer | Mason, MI

Salary Range: $78,000 - $123,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Mason region seeking Controls Engineers. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates-not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and tests control systems and software for manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex control system issues, including hardware and software.
  • Implements and optimizes PLC programs, HMI interfaces, and robotic controls.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define control system requirements and specifications.
  • Develops and maintains technical documentation for control systems, including schematics and user manuals.
  • Participates in the commissioning and startup of new equipment and production lines.
  • Ensures compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements for control systems.
  • Provides technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff) and HMI/SCADA development.
  • Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP/IP).
  • Proven experience with motion control systems, robotics, and vision systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot complex automation systems.
