Summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Senior Consultant - Technology Control Testing for a contract assignment with one of our premier Banking clients in Toronto, ON. Hybrid:2-3 days/week in office.

This role sits within the Global Technology Control Testing team and supports the Bank's enterprise Technology Risk Management program within the Three Lines of Defense framework.

The successful candidate will act as a strategic partner to the senior executive responsible for Technology Control Testing , helping manage the operational and strategic aspects of the control testing program across the organization. The role focuses on program coordination, governance, executive reporting, and operational leadership to ensure the control testing function operates efficiently across multiple technology risk domains.

This position requires extensive coordination across Technology, Risk Management, Internal Audit, and business leadership , ensuring testing activities, remediation commitments, and governance reporting remain organized and aligned with enterprise risk practices.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a program lead for the Technology Control Testing function , helping manage priorities, workflows, and coordination across the testing team.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the senior executive responsible for Technology Control Testing , supporting planning, organization, and execution of the control testing program.
  • Maintain oversight of testing schedules, deliverables, and remediation tracking to ensure the program remains on track.
  • Prepare executive-level reporting, dashboards, and presentations summarizing testing progress, risk observations, and remediation status.
  • Coordinate activities across Technology, Risk, and Audit teams , ensuring clear communication and alignment across stakeholders.
  • Support the development of program strategy, governance processes, and operating procedures for the Technology Control Testing function.
  • Facilitate status meetings, working sessions, and stakeholder communications across multiple teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, automation, and structure of the control testing program .
  • Track audit findings, risk observations, and remediation commitments to ensure timelines and deliverables are properly managed.
  • Provide operational leadership and guidance to ensure the control testing program runs efficiently and consistently .
Required Skills
  • 8+ years of experience in Technology Risk, IT Controls, Technology Governance, or Technology Operations .
  • Proven experience supporting technology risk or control programs within large financial institutions or other highly regulated environments .
  • Strong experience with program coordination, governance processes, and operational leadership within a technology risk or audit function.
  • Strong executive communication skills , including preparation of dashboards, reporting packages, and presentations for senior leadership .
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate workstreams across cross-functional teams .
  • Experience tracking audit findings, remediation activities, and risk management deliverables .
Preferred Skills .
  • Experience supporting SOX ITor enterprise technology control testing programs .
  • Familiarity with technology risk frameworks such as COBIT, NIST, or CIS
  • Experience using data analytics or reporting tools to support risk monitoring and governance reporting.
  • Background working within banking or financial services technology risk organizations .
