Job Description
We are seeking an Application Support Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Linux and Windows systems administration, middleware support, and application operations and a proven ability to execute operational run tasks, coordinate builds and patching, and support application managers.
Work Arrangement and Notes:
- Hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite.
- Approved locations: Charlotte, NC; Plano, TX; Jersey City, NJ.
- Locations must be listed on resume.
- Maximum submissions per supplier: 4.
Responsibilities:
- Perform basic OS troubleshooting on Linux and Windows environments.
- Manage certificates and support password rotations for application components.
- Coordinate server and software builds for development and test teams.
- Plan and execute OS and middleware patching activities.
- Support application manager with execution of operational tasks and incident follow-ups.
- Use Splunk and MongoDB tools for basic troubleshooting and monitoring.
- Collaborate across multiple teams using JIRA to track work and issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Linux command line for OS and major middleware support.
- Windows OS administration skills.
- Familiarity with middleware and data platforms such as IIS, Apache, MongoDB, and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience using JIRA for task and incident tracking.
- Basic project coordination skills to work across multiple teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Linux scripting for automation.
- Project management exposure.
- Knowledge of storage technologies.
- Software development experience, e.g., Python.
Primary/Secondary Tools:
- Primary: Linux.
- Secondary: MongoDB.
- Tertiary: Splunk Enterprise.
