Role Overview
This opportunity is for a Software Development Engineer II role supporting a B2B Foundational Services organization. The position is focused on building and operating the backend systems that enable enterprise and organizational customers. This role is suited for an engineer who is proficient in building scalable backend systems, handling large data volumes, and solving distributed systems problems where performance, correctness, and reliability are important. The work concentrates on creating operational value for business customers, rather than on UI development.
Key Responsibilities
- Own operational and development tasks from end to end.
- Translate provided designs into working, scalable solutions.
- Identify and work within the appropriate technology stack.
- Build and enhance backend services that support distributed workflows.
- Collaborate with SDE peers across different time zones.
- Coach and mentor junior development engineers.
Required Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
Experience: Candidates must have 3+ years of professional software development experience, with a background in backend-focused engineering. This includes experience with the full software development life cycle, such as coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. Additionally, 2+ years of design or architecture experience with new and existing systems is necessary. Experience with distributed systems or distribution solutions is also required.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of C++ is required. Experience with Java is also acceptable. Candidates must have hands-on AWS cloud experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with the client's systems or environment.
- Exposure to Generative AI concepts or tooling.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay range for this position is $44.00/hr to $54.00/hr. We provide a benefits package for eligible employees.
