We are seeking a
Senior Mechanical Design / Project Engineer with
5-10 years of experience supporting
nuclear power plant modification and capital improvement projects. This role will serve as a
Responsible Design Engineer (RDE) and will perform
Owner Acceptance Reviews, providing technical leadership and oversight for complex mechanical design and project execution efforts, including extended power uprate-related work.
Key Responsibilities
- Support nuclear power plant modification and capital improvement projects
- Perform Owner Acceptance Reviews for mechanical engineering designs and deliverables
- Serve as the Responsible Design Engineer (RDE) for assigned mechanical scopes
- Lead or support mechanical design activities, including reviews of calculations, specifications, and drawings
- Ensure compliance with applicable nuclear, regulatory, and industry engineering standards
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, project management, and stakeholders
- Provide technical guidance and oversight throughout the project lifecycle, from design through implementation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering (required)
- 5-10 years of mechanical engineering experience in a nuclear power plant environment
- Experience supporting nuclear plant modifications and capital projects
- Proven experience performing Owner Acceptance Reviews
- Demonstrated ability to serve in a Responsible Design Engineer role
- Strong technical, documentation, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Extended Power Uprate (EPU) initiatives
- Familiarity with nuclear design control, configuration management, and QA processes
- Experience working in highly regulated environments
Work Environment
- Engineering and project-based role within a regulated nuclear utility environment
- Collaboration with cross-functional engineering and project teams
