Metrology Technician | Walker, MI

Salary Range: $48,000 - $75,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform precision measurements using CMM, optical comparators, and other metrology equipment.
  • Calibrate and maintain measurement tools and equipment according to established procedures.
  • Analyze measurement data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and ensure product quality.
  • Develop and document measurement procedures and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve measurement-related problems.
  • Conduct Gage R&R studies and other measurement system analysis.
  • Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) for part inspection.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Metrology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment performing dimensional inspection and metrology.
  • Proficient in the use of various metrology equipment, including CMMs, optical comparators, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application in measurement and inspection.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with metrology software for data analysis and reporting (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
