The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Coopersville that are seeking Metrology Technicians. These companies are committed to building strong teams and are looking for professionals who can lead initiatives effectively. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform precision measurements using CMM, optical comparators, and other metrology equipment.
  • Calibrate and maintain measurement tools and equipment according to established procedures.
  • Analyze measurement data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and ensure product quality.
  • Develop and document measurement procedures and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve measurement-related problems.
  • Support the implementation and improvement of quality control processes.
  • Conduct Gage R&R studies and other measurement system analysis.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Metrology, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years experience in a manufacturing metrology lab utilizing various measurement instruments.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Hands-on experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation and programming (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
  • Familiarity with calibration processes and maintaining measurement uncertainty.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with automated metrology equipment (e.g., automated CMMs, optical profilers).
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T on complex engineering drawings.
  • Experience with programming metrology equipment (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
  • Certification from a recognized metrology organization (e.g., ASQ CCT, NCSL International).
