Metrology Technician | Grandville, MI

Salary Range: $52,000 - $79,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Grandville seeking Metrology Technicians who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration and verification of measurement tools and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair metrology equipment, identifying root causes of issues.
  • Develop and maintain calibration procedures and documentation in accordance with quality standards.
  • Conduct Gage R&R studies and measurement system analysis (MSA) to assess accuracy and precision.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve measurement-related discrepancies.
  • Provide technical support and training to personnel on proper use and care of measuring instruments.
  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of metrology equipment and manage calibration schedules.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to metrology processes and equipment.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Metrology, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in dimensional inspection and metrology within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in operating and programming various metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, VMM, optical comparators, hand tools).
  • Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application in measurement and inspection.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Experience with calibration processes and maintaining measurement system traceability.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and applications.
  • Proficiency with statistical process control (SPC) software and data analysis.
  • ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification.
