Metrology Technician | Mason, MI

Salary Range: $49,000 - $76,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration and preventative maintenance on metrology equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair measurement instruments to ensure accuracy.
  • Develop and document calibration procedures and work instructions.
  • Analyze measurement data and generate calibration reports.
  • Support manufacturing by providing measurement assistance and expertise.
  • Maintain calibration records and equipment history files.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to measurement processes.

Recommended Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years experience in metrology or quality control in a manufacturing setting
  • Proficient in using various measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM, optical comparators)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with automated measurement systems (e.g., CMM programming).
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis software.
  • Knowledge of GD&T principles beyond basic interpretation.
  • Calibration experience for various types of metrology equipment.
