Metrology Technician | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $56,000 - $83,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across East Lansing seeking Metrology Technicians who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform calibration and preventative maintenance on metrology equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair measurement equipment and systems.
• Develop and maintain calibration procedures and documentation.
• Conduct measurement system analysis (MSA) studies.
• Provide technical support and training to production and engineering teams.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Utilize various precision measuring instruments, such as CMMs, optical comparators, and calipers.

Recommended Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Metrology, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in metrology or quality control within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in using a wide range of precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs, optical comparators).
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application in measurement and inspection.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Experience with calibration processes and maintaining measurement equipment accuracy.
