Metrology Technician | Delta Township, MI

Salary Range: $57,000 - $84,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Delta Township seeking Metrology Technicians who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional inspections of manufactured parts using various measurement tools.
  • Calibrate and maintain metrology equipment according to established procedures and schedules.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications to determine measurement requirements.
  • Document inspection results, identify non-conformances, and generate detailed reports.
  • Troubleshoot measurement issues and provide technical support to production and engineering teams.
  • Develop and optimize measurement programs for automated inspection systems (e.g., CMMs, vision systems).
  • Participate in root cause analysis for quality issues related to measurement and inspection.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Metrology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing metrology or quality control role.
  • Proficient in the use of various precision measurement tools (e.g., CMM, micrometers, calipers, optical comparators).
  • Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application in measurement and inspection.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and specifications.
  • Experience with calibration procedures and maintaining measurement equipment accuracy.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with automated measurement systems (e.g., CMM programming, vision systems).
  • ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification.
  • Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) software and analysis.
  • Familiarity with GD&T advanced concepts and application beyond basic interpretation.
