Metrology Technician | Charlotte, MI

Salary Range: $48,000 - $75,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration and preventative maintenance on measurement equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning metrology instruments.
  • Develop and implement calibration procedures and work instructions.
  • Analyze measurement data and generate calibration reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of all calibration activities.
  • Provide technical support and training to production personnel on measurement techniques.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to metrology processes.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Metrology, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in metrology within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in operating and programming various CMMs and other measurement equipment (e.g., optical comparators, micrometers, calipers).
  • Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Experience with calibration procedures and maintaining measurement equipment accuracy.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with automated measurement systems (e.g., CMM programming and operation).
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for interpreting and creating measurement plans.
  • ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT).
  • Experience with vision systems or other non-contact measurement technologies.
