Help Desk Technician | Holt, MI

Salary Range: $47,000 - $72,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Holt that are seeking Help Desk Technicians. These companies are committed to building strong teams and are looking for professionals who can lead initiatives effectively. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing software and hardware.
  • Resolve IT issues related to production machinery, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
  • Document, track, and monitor IT incidents and requests using a ticketing system.
  • Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on manufacturing-specific IT infrastructure.
  • Assist with the deployment and configuration of new technology in production environments.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations to optimize system performance and reliability.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years experience in a help desk or IT support role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware (e.g., PCs, printers, industrial equipment interfaces) and software (e.g., Windows OS, MS Office, specialized manufacturing applications)
  • Strong understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi) and ability to diagnose basic connectivity issues
  • Experience with ticketing systems and IT service management best practices
  • Ability to provide support for mobile devices and industrial handhelds

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems or other industrial control systems
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework and practices
  • Certifications in relevant areas (CompTIA A+, Network+, ITIL, etc.)
  • Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) for automation
