RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Network Manager in New York, NY.
Overview:
The Network Manager serves as the primary technical authority responsible for the architecture, performance, reliability, and security posture of the client's enterprise network infrastructure. This role ensures that all network architecture, engineering, maintenance, and optimization activities align with client objectives and comply with applicable operational, security, and technical standards.
The Network Manager acts as the senior network architect and technical escalation authority, leading architecture and design across a Cisco-based routing and switching environment and Cisco and Palo Alto firewall platforms. This role is architect- and engineering-focused and is not a NOC or day-to-day operations position.
Key Tasks:
* Own the performance, resiliency, and security posture of the Client's network infrastructure
* Approve network architectures, high-impact design changes, and complex engineering solutions
* Act as the senior technical escalation point for Priority 1 and Major Incident events
Routing & Switching Architecture (Cisco):
* Architect and govern Cisco-based routing and switching environments across core, distribution, and access layers
* Provide architectural leadership for large-scale enterprise and backbone networks using Cisco platforms
* Ensure designs meet requirements for high availability, scalability, performance, and operational maintainability
* Review and approve complex routing, switching, and backbone design decisions
* Serve as the architectural authority for firewall and network security design using Cisco and Palo Alto platforms
* Define and govern firewall architectures supporting high availability, segmentation, and security zoning
* Ensure firewall designs align with Client security objectives and applicable standards
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline
* Current senior-level network engineering certification such as CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent advanced certification
* At least ten (10) years of experience designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures
* Demonstrated experience with large backbone networks and fiber infrastructure
* Proven experience in the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of complex network architectures, including Cisco routing/switching and enterprise firewall environments
Strongly Preferred Qualifications:
* Demonstrated experience supporting public-sector, government, or other highly regulated environments
* Experience operating within formal governance, compliance, and audit-driven delivery models typical of public-sector clients
* Proven ability to align network architecture and engineering decisions with public-sector policy, security, and operational objectives
Time Commitment and Availability:
* Reachable 24x7x365 for Priority 1 and Major Incident escalations
* Available on-site when requested by the client
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
