AI Data Governance Specialist
Location: Dallas, Texas (On-site)

Role Overview
This position requires an experienced AI Data Governance Specialist to establish and enforce governance policies for AI/ML data pipelines. The role involves working with enterprise-scale data platforms to ensure data quality, compliance, and responsible AI practices. The specialist will collaborate with technical and executive teams to drive governance adoption and support the full lifecycle of AI models.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce AI data governance policies and workflows.
- Support the end-to-end AI/ML data pipeline, including ingestion, labeling, feature engineering, and model training.
- Conduct data quality checks, bias reviews, and maintain data lineage for AI models.
- Lead cross-functional discussions to drive the adoption of data governance practices.
- Integrate governance into MLOps workflows using tools for feature stores, model registries, and data versioning.
- Translate complex data insights and governance risks into actionable recommendations for both executive and technical stakeholders.
- Utilize SQL or Python to support data quality, validation, and governance tasks.
Required Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 10 years in data governance or data stewardship, including 3-5 years specifically focused on AI/ML data. Experience with enterprise-scale data platforms in large organizations and knowledge of the retail industry are required.
Technical Skills: A strong understanding of AI/ML data pipelines is required. This includes working knowledge of SQL and basic Python. Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift is necessary. Familiarity with data governance tools like Collibra, Atlan, Alation, or Informatica is also required.
Governance & Compliance: Knowledge of data privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA, along with responsible AI guidelines, is necessary. The role requires proven experience in developing and enforcing AI governance policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with MLOps tools such as MLflow, Azure ML, or SageMaker.
- Understanding of feature stores, model registries, and data versioning concepts.
- Proven ability in process improvement and implementing governance workflows.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated pay range for this position is $60.00 to $80.00 per hour. Please note that the final pay rate will be determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience and qualifications.
